A few years ago, I made this template for my companies Softball team. I chose one of my favorite baseball card styles,1987 Topps baseball card. I don’t know what it is about the 1987 Topps cards, maybe its the wood grain, maybe its the interesting slogans, maybe its the fact that have boxes upon boxes of these cards from when i was a kid. Whatever the reason is, i worked on the template, and did my best to make it look as close to the originals. The template is 10″x14″ and can easily be scaled down to a normal baseball size card. I found that if i made it larger, I had more control over the end result, plus i can make bigger images to send people. Unfortunately I never got around to making the back side of the card.
Moving Your WordPress Blog to a New Domain
I wanted to take some time to explain the steps i followed to migrate my blog to a new domain. Since my domains are both hosted by the same service, the migration steps i followed were much easier then if someone had to build a new database.
- The first thing I did was backup my word press directory and database. This is easily accomplished by downloading all the files from my old blog folders via ftp, to a folder on my pc. I then logged into mysql admin, and exported my database to a file and saved it to the same path as my files. I labeled this folder with the current date to identify it as my blog backup.
- Then I downloaded the same wordpress version I am currently running from the WordPress Release Archive
- I extracted and uploaded this new clean wordpress to my new domains root path. Continue reading Moving Your WordPress Blog to a New Domain
301 Redirect For WordPress Blog
So it appeared i could not keep both sites running, so i figured out how to make a 301 redirect which is the best way to redirect your links, without upsetting your search engine rankings. It was really simple to do. All I did was create a new .htaccess file with the following code and placed it in the root of my old website. Everything from my old site redirects here now with no problems.
redirect 301 /blog/ http://www.theCrazySteve.com/
Just so you can understand what is happening. My old blog was in www.domain.com/blog/ what i am telling your webbrowser (and spiders) to do, is any thing that points to www.domain.com/blog/(whatever) to point to http://www.theCrazySteve.com/(whatever) . If you dont have an extra folder level like me (/blog/) you can just put / there like this:
redirect 301 / http://www.theCrazySteve.com/
Obviously changing your domain name.
This website has great information on redirects, and the pro’s and cons to different types.

My complaint about Robert
So here I am taking time out of my busy schedule to let you and maybe a few other people know that it is our duty to our children and to their children and to our yet unborn posterity to provide an atmosphere of mutual respect, free from officialism, irrationalism, and all other forms of prejudice and intolerance. For openers, by allowing Robert to inculcate cranky paroxysms, we are allowing him to play puppet master. All he really wants is to hang onto the perks he’s getting from the system. That’s all he really cares about.
Is it important that Robert uses vulgar language and makes obscene gestures at those whose opinions differ from his? Of course it’s important. But what’s more important is that the fallout from his snarky catch-phrases has been an increasingly predatory environment of calculation, scheming, and pandering that will, by virtue of its omnipresence, submerge us in a sea of credentialism. But I digress. This is not the first time I’ve wanted to compare, contrast, and identify the connections among different kinds of prudish gnosticism. But it is the first time I realized that if you read his writings while mentally out of focus, you may get the sense that snotty, combative scalawags are easily housebroken. But if you read Robert’s writings while mentally in focus and weigh each point carefully, it’s clear that if we don’t remove the Robert threat now, it will bite us in our backside quicker than you can double-check the spelling of “hexosemonophosphoric”.
Robert is currently limited to shrieking and spitting when he’s confronted with inconvenient facts. Sooner or later, however, Robert is likely to switch to some sort of “trick us into trading freedom for serfdom” approach to draw our attention away from such facts. If you want to clear up these muddied waters with some reality, then tell everyone you know the truth, that some day, in the far, far future, he will realize that his most recent mawkish claim (viz., that we should derive moral guidance from his glitzy, multi-culti, hip-hop, consumption-oriented utterances) is a tissue of lies, bias, and emotional manipulation from beginning to end. This realization will sink in slowly but surely and will be accompanied by a comprehension of how Robert may be reasonably cunning with words. However, he is entirely scummy with everything else. By working together, we can protect our peace, privacy, and safety. May we never forget this if we are to deny Robert and his assistants a chance to trade facts for fantasy, truth for myths, academics for collective socialization, and individual thinking for group manipulation.

Game of the Week: UrbanDead
So to keep with our theme of Zombie Mayhem, I bring to you Urban Dead. This game has been around for quite some time now. It is an extremely basic web based game, where you move around the city, collecting items, and barricades to save you from the zombies outside. Different classes enable you to have different abilities as in many games, but this one has a twist… you can actually play as the zombies! Every hour you get a certain amount of moves, but if your moves run out and your outside, one of the lingering zombies may come past and kill you, bringing you to the ranks of Zombie fun. Some players may choose to stay this way, and play their game as the Zombie menance, but dont worry, you can be converted back to human provided you can find a some one with the proper syringe to do so. As i said before the game has a very basic display (Click Here to see a sample) Any way enough talking about this rather creative game, its time to go play it, Have fun.
Game Of The Week: The Last Stand 2
So by now you should have made your way though the first episode of The Last Stand to freedom. But Alas, while on the way to a military base, a medic treating a patient onboard realizes that his patient is dead seconds before the zombie kills him and the pilots, causing a catastrophic crash of which you are the sole survivor. After a month hiding in a hardware store, you hear a radio broadcast stating that the surviving military and civilian forces are calling all remaining survivors to a coastal city in order to save as many lives as possible before abandoning the mainland to the undead and taking to the seas. You have one month to travel across the state before the ships leave.
New game features include the ability to set traps, search individual buildings for survivors and gear, and travel between individual cities.
O and be Careful… some of these guys.. carry weapons that will kill your friends.

Game Of The Week: The Last Stand
It is now October, This seams like the right month to post this. The Last Stand Is a Web based flash game where you play a survivor in a world full of zombies. You build a small fortification where you defend your life from hordes of zombies. At night hordes of the undead come to feast on your flesh. All that stops them from doing so, is a shoddy fence and your expert marksmanship. During the day the zombie nightmare subsides and you have time to search for survivors and weapons to help you in your defense. The more survivors you have the better your searches go. At night the Survivors will help you defend your lives. This is a very interesting game.
Have Fun
